The field of Pastry and Baking blends technique with creativity. This hands-on course is designed to set students on the path to becoming professional bakers. Students will learn essential terminology, proper equipment use, recipe conversions, and the roles of various ingredients, enabling them to create breads, pastries, and a variety of desserts. Through project-based learning and focused technical skills practice, students will work toward mastering key standards in the culinary arts.
My name is Andres Rizo, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology from CSUSM, as well as an honors diploma from the Institute of Culinary Education in Pasadena. I bring five years of experience as a chef and two years of experience in owning and operating a catering business. I am enthusiastic about teaching this beautiful craft to students and helping them prepare for successful careers in the culinary industry.
